Our Approach

At Dodford First School, we believe that every child is unique, valued and deserving of the opportunity to thrive. Inclusion is at the heart of our school vision, and we are committed to working in partnership with pupils, families and professionals to ensure that every child feels respected, supported and able to achieve their full potential.

We recognise that children's needs are diverse and individual and may include special educational needs, disabilities or medical needs. We carefully assess and review each child's needs and adapt teaching, the curriculum, the environment and wider opportunities where appropriate, taking all reasonable steps to ensure effective provision and equal access.

We work closely with families and pupils through a 'assess, plan, do, review' approach, alongside specialist advice where appropriate. Through this collaborative approach, we aim to ensure that every child is respected, included, supported and empowered to develop their independence, persevere through challenges, demonstrate determination and achieve excellence in their own way.
