In the Reception Class, the curriculum is planned from the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum on seven areas of learning. The children have a theme topic each half term.
In Years 1-4, the children follow the National Curriculum 2014, which apart from in English and Maths, is split into key stages. They will study English, Maths, Science, Computing, History, Geography, Art and Design, Music, PSHE, RE, French (in Years 3 and 4) and PE.
At the beginning of each term, details are sent out to parents, informing them of what their child will be covering in each subject.
The curriculum is driven by a termly theme and is a relevant, creative, challenging and fun approach to learning. We provide outdoor learning experiences and visits and visitors where appropriate, to enhance the curriculum.
The curriculum is reviewed annually and is matched to the needs of all the children by using a variety of teaching styles and ensuring that tasks are differentiated.
